Perspective

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy is a form of talking therapy where the therapist works with the client to help them improve their own understanding of themselves and their relationships.  Over time, this increased self-understanding leads to therapeutic change in the individual, typically aiming to improve mental health and addressing long standing unconscious barriers to living a more fulfilling life.  I offer in-person appointments in consulting rooms near Exeter with the option of online appointments for those well established in therapy.

Psychodyamic Psychotherapy

In my work as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, I help adults who are experiencing considerable difficulties with their feelings about themselves and in their relationships with others - particularly with partners, family and at work.  These difficulties are often associated with a variety of psychological problems and negatively affect mental health, sometimes severely.

I provide clients with a safe therapeutic setting, offering better understanding of self and of important relationships, using a psychodynamic approach.  Initially, one or more preliminary sessions help the client and myself think about whether this is a suitable approach for them.  Therapy appointments are available in person and also online where this is appropriate.
